Color Walk 2026
Mental Health Month Color Walk & Resource Fair
Event Recap
Okanogan Behavioral HealthCare is proud to share that the 2026 Mental Health Month Color Walk & Resource Fair was a tremendous success!
Now in its sixth year, the Color Walk is proudly hosted by Okanogan Behavioral HealthCare (OBHC), in partnership with the Foundation for Youth Resiliency and Engagement (FYRE), in celebration of National Mental Health Month. This annual event continues to grow, reflecting the strong support and engagement of our community.
This year’s event welcomed more than 500 participants and 40 local vendors. Attendees of all ages enjoyed a day filled with walking, music, games, and activities while building meaningful connections with family, friends, peers, and our outstanding local resource providers. The Color Walk remains a powerful opportunity to promote mental health awareness, wellness, connection, and access to community resources.
“At OBHC, we are proud to lead an event that not only promotes mental health awareness but also brings together so many dedicated partners and organizations,” said Erica Good, OBHC Director of Communications and Color Walk Event Coordinator, “The success of the Color Walk reflects what we can accomplish when we work together for the well-being of our community.”
We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners whose participation and dedication help strengthen our community. Your work—and presence at events like this—plays a vital role in fostering a healthier, more connected community.
“The continued growth of the Color Walk highlights the strength of our community and the importance of creating spaces where people can connect and support one another,” said David McClay, Okanogan Behavioral HealthCare CEO. “OBHC is proud to host this event each year and bring together partners who share our commitment to improving mental health and overall wellness in Okanogan County.”
We are also deeply grateful to our event sponsors, whose generous contributions help ensure that the Color Walk remains free and accessible to all members of the community. Special thanks to Wenatchee Valley College and Okanogan Child Development Association (OCCDA) for their PLATINUM sponsorship, Molina Healthcare for their GOLD sponsorship, and Welcome Home Care and H.A.P.S. for their SILVER sponsorship, along with all of our valued bronze event sponsors.
We would also like to recognize the incredible youth volunteers—primarily from the Omak Youth Leadership Council (overseen by FYRE) and the Okanogan Key Club—whose energy and dedication helped ensure the event ran smoothly. They provided support with throwing the color powder, serving food, manning the cake walks, and judging the event contests.
Congratulations to our contest winners! The Umbrella Decorating and Individual Costume Contest winners each received a $100 gift card, the Group Costume Contest winners each received a $50 gift card, and eight additional $25 gift cards were awarded as honorable mentions—all generously provided by FYRE as the event’s contest sponsor.
Thank you, OCCDA, for your collaboration this year as we worked to expand the event. Your partnership in developing and running the activity stations around the walking trail were pivotal in elevating the event this year.
Most of all, we would like to thank all of the community members who joined us for this year’s Color Walk. We truly value your support of OBHC and our community events. Your participation is what makes these events so meaningful. Your support allows us to bring people together, build connections, strengthen relationships, and reduce stigma.
Once again, thank you to everyone who attended and supported the 2026 Mental Health Month Color Walk & Resource Fair. We look forward to seeing you again next May!
